VARSITY CUP 10 KICKS OFF IN STYLE

The 10th year anniversary of Varsity Cup 2017 kicked-off in a big way in on January 30th in Johannesburg which saw FNB Wits and FNB Shimlas battle it out at the Wits Rugby Stadium. First time sponsor Steers has brought an element of lifestyle to this year’s tournament by partnering with DJs Major League and Twins on Decks on their campaign.

Steers has for many years supported Varsity Sports with its sponsorship of Sevens Rugby, Varsity Cricket as well as Beach Volleyball. This marks the first time the brand throws its weight behind Varsity Cup which is significant as it shows the brand’s continued commitment to developing and growing university sport.

Steers Varsity Cup Campaign will be spearheaded by well-known dj’s and twins Major League as well as Twins On Decks who were in attendance at Monday’s game. “ Back in our school going days Varsity Cup was always the hottest ticket in town so we are huge fans of the tournament. It only made sense for us to partner with Steers on this campaign in driving people to the stadiums with the concept of Twinning which really is about you going to enjoy the games in the company of friends who share the same passions” said Twins on Decks.

The brand hope’s  to add value and bring an element of cool through their tournament activities. These include a halftime build your own life-size burger and as well as through competitions for spectators which will be run on social. The main aim of the campaign is to drive people in their numbers to get behind their boys and attend the games.

The tournament will run for the next three months drawing to a close on the 17th of April.
