The youth of Mzansi responded enthusiastically by thronging the regional auditions venues in their thousands with Jo’burg recording 3000 plus.

The second phase of the process was the call backs involving top contenders from the regions which whittled the numbers down to the top 5.

The Top 5 contenders were announced during the live episode of Mzansi Insider on Saturday the 14th of October 2017 as follows:

Mulisa Mudau (Limpopo)

Snothando Mthimunye (Free State)

Kgaofelo Mokholwane (Gauteng)

and Zanele Potelwa(E.C.).

“The channel went out to the regions in search of fresh talent and we are confident that the top 5 represent the kind of talent and ability we are looking for.” – says Phuthi Moloto SABC1 Brand Manager and part of the judging panel. “‘The concept of opening up the industry is never an easy one but we are confident that talent from the Mzansi Insider presenter search will find a place on the channel in future” she adds.

The Top 5 contenders will be taken through a set of challenges at the end of which the judging panel will select the Top 2.

The Top 2 contenders will then go through the final phase of the competition in the form of a live studio challenge, conducting live studio interviews, alongside current show’s presenter, Rorisang Thandekiso.

Mzansi Fo Sho viewers will get an opportunity to select their favourite their presenter, their votes will contribute to the judges final decision from Saturday, 21 October 2017, on Mzansi Insider social media platforms: @Mzansinsider (Twitter) and Mzansi Insider (Facebook) who will then join Rorisang as co-presenter of the popular breakfast show.
