SABC 1’s RGB bids a fond farewell to Phat Joe

SABC1 and RGB bids a warm farewell to the shows’ longest serving host, Majota “Phat Joe” Khambule after a solid 7 year stint on the popular gossip entertainment show.

The seasoned presenter joined RGB in September 2010.

“Thank you to all the fans for the opportunity. I had a lot of fun! Most importantly thank you to the entire RGB team. I will see you all in the near future. Watch this space.” – said Phat Joe of his departure on the show.

The RGB show’s producer who has worked with Joe for the past 7 years had nothing but good things to say about him. “Phat Joe has been a valuable member of the RGB family and an excellent driver on our journey of entertaining South Africans. His professionalism, insight and engaging character kept our viewers glued to their screens. We wish him all the best.” – Sydney Mekgwe, the show’s producer.

The channel also thanked Joe for the service and dedication he presented in the years he was with the show. “SABC 1 prides itself as the aggregator of some of the most popular entertainment shows in the country and it is talent like Phat Joe that makes our content accessible to the viewers. Sadly our journey with him has come to an end. We wish him everything of the best in his future endeavours.” – commented Clara Nzima, SABC1 Head of Bouquet.
