A list of the top female House vocalists in Mzansi

In 2015, CNN declared South Africa the Epicentre of House Music. It may have started in “The Warehouse” club, Chicago, but the center of the house music world has relocated. Funny enough it did not relocate to obvious party centres like Ibiza or Miami, or anywhere in Europe!  Today the biggest house market per capita anywhere in the world is South Africa.

We take a look at some of the most out standing house music top female vocalists, in no particular order.

Lazy Zamar

She burst onto the music scene on a feature with Junior Taurus. She followed up with one of the most popular songs in Africa at the moment, Charlotte with DJ Kaybee. Lazy Zamar released her debut album in early 2017 and her two songs Love is Blind and My Baby are on high rotation, both audio and video.

Her thigh game whenever she’s on stage is TOP! She always laying dance-floor busting vocals on all songs we have heard from her so far! It would be unjust not to have her in this list.

Bucie can claim her place on the list of House Music veterans. She has been in the game for as long as we can remember. She has toured the world. She has won awards. She has been on high rotation. She has had her song covered by greats like Drake, say what?

Inga Hina

The Eastern Cape born vocalist took us by surprise when she laid vocals on one of the best house tracks of 2016, produced by Mobi Dixon. We are sure she will be on more hits this year and beyond. Her vocals are a trigger for those who love to dance!

Zinhle Ngidi

Who can forget Shumaya? Yes the girl who did those catchy vocals is called Zinhle Ngidi. She had grown to be an artist on her own right and has done a couple of records with Trademark and other producers, although she is yet to have a hit on the level of Shumaya.
